The sustainable urban agriculture taught to young people, mostlv the children of immigrant, by the Community Design Center is a wonderful way to promote environmental sensitivity, encourage entrepreneurship and communitv involvement and offer vocational opportunities. But to thisproject you have broug ht a human warmth and love of children that will teach them far more than food production - that they are valuable human beings with limitless potential who are loved for who they are. They will carry this lesson with them into whatever field of work they choose, and the community and our world will be better for it. This is pure heart-work, done without a hint of a personal agenda or hope of recognition or reward. This pure expression in the world of the love and joy in your heart are the qualities that Sullivan Ballou exemplified. We honor you today for your work, but we also learn from you. You teach us that heart energy is what matters. We are inspired by your example.
