You perfectly exemplify Sullivan Ballou’s spirit of heartfelt action. You are known as a strategic, patient, and effective advocate for social change. And we have been inspired to hear of the enormous energy you have contributed to a wide range of social justice projects. You have worked tirelessly on the Minnesotans United For Justice “Vote No” Campaign, with the National Muslim Women Welfare Society to advocate for Muslim and Dahlit minority women in Jaipur, India, and with the Secretary of State’s Office on Election Reform to maximize election accessibility.
Like many thoughtful advocates, you know that young people hold the key to future change. You have a strong background in the YMCA Youth in Government program and continue to serve on the Fundraising and Communications Board. And you promote student participation in human rights policy and administration as co-chair of the Human Rights Program Student Advisory Board.
Joe, we applaud your dedication to advocacy, education, and the struggle for human rights here and abroad. We are honored to be able to affirm your idealism and your work in this small way. We fully expect to hear about the leadership of Joe Fifield in the human rights field in the future. Thank you for what you have done and for the hopes you give us for the future.
Congratulations!
