We know of your absolute faith that very different people in different parts of the world could come together to help children and families. We know how you open your heart to the children of your village in Kenya, calling them your “babies” whether or not there happens to be a biological connection. We know that many of them are AIDS orphans that you treat as beloved grandchildren and that in your house they often eat and sing and pray.
Your example was so inspiring to the people of St. David’s Church in Minnetonka during your visit here that they formed the Mama Ada Foundation as a means for Americans here to help, visit, connect with , and learn from the people of the Ziwa community and the surrounding area. What a testament to your contagious energy!
As with Sullivan Ballou, your example is made beautiful and pure because your actions flow straight from your heart, with no thought of personal reward or self interest. We are honored to learn of your work and to be able to assist in some small way.
Your contributions and spirit will be honored at a the annual dinner and silent auction of the Mama Ada Foundation in Eden Prarie. We hope to have photos to send you.. Even though we know you cannot be present in person, we know your spirit will be there.
It has been a pleasure to learn of you and your work. We hope this award will in some small way affirm for you the rightness of your path and the value of your efforts.
Congratulations!
